It's been a good while since my last post, but I'm back and in full affect to keep you updated on plenty beauty tips, fashion and crazy random thoughts.
Let's go back to basics for a minute. In order to have a smooth makeup application you must first start with a good proper cleansing. I will provide those basics as well as suggest some recommendations (these recommendations are what works for me and my slick-sensitive skin). Feel free to experiment and finds what suites your skins needs, but keep in mind, some items takes weeks before seeing results. So, patience it often key.
First, you want to start with a good cleanser that fits your skin type. For me, I use oil free products like Garniers oil-free charcoal cleanser, which they do have products for dry an combination skin as well. I must say I love this product because it does tone down the oil and gives my skin more of a matte finish after I've washed. If you have sensitive skin, stick to something for sensitive skin. Cetaphil has a lot of great products for this. Another concern might be redness. I see a lot of different products to help deminish that flushed looked. Aquaphor has a great cleanser for this, which I have used myself.
Second, find a great toner that aids in those same concerns as mentioned above. I use an oil free toner. Mostly Neutrogena or Clean and Clear. Nevertheless, you can never go wrong with good old fashioned witch hazel.
Lastly, don't skimp on a good moisturizer that aids in your skins concerns. If you have oily skin like I do, stick to a moisturizer that is oil free. If your skin is overly sebaceous you can get away without applying moisturizer. Do keep in mind to use a facial wash and toner that may help in mattifying your skin. As for me, I LOVE St. Ives moisturizer, Timeless. It can be utilized for both oily, dry or sensitive skin. It contains collagen and elastin proteins that keeps the skin looking youthful.
If you wear makeup, following these steps will help in providing you with a flawless makeup application. Even if you don't wear makeup I'm sure you want to maintain your skins health and keep your skin vibrant.
So, play around a little bit with a few products, but keeping your skin concerns in mind. If these are steps your are not following, you may just want to start now my friend!
